How to Change an Outfit with AI: A Practical Guide for Sellers and Creators
Reshooting a product photo for every new garment is slow and expensive. An AI outfit changer offers a cheaper route: upload a photo of a person and a photo of a garment, and the model renders the garment onto the person, draping it to the body with matching folds and lighting. It does not replace a real fitting, but for listings, lookbooks, and social posts it is often good enough — and it takes minutes, not a studio day.
How it works in three steps
- Upload a person photo. A full-body or half-body photo works best (JPG, PNG, or WebP, up to 10 MB).
- Upload a garment photo. A clear garment shot with a clean background works best.
- Start the change. Optionally add an editing note, then preview and download the result. The studio page shows live progress, and finished tasks stay in your task history.
A change usually takes 1–3 minutes depending on the queue. Credits are reserved when the task is created, and failed or unfinished tasks are refunded automatically. New users get 1,000 free credits on sign-up.
Photos that give the best result
- Person photo: the full visible body, a natural pose, and good lighting. Cropped, heavily shadowed, or cluttered shots are the most common cause of a poor swap.
- Garment photo: the whole garment, fully visible, not folded and not half out of frame, on a clean background.
- Match the fit: a garment photographed flat will still be re-draped to the body, but a shot that already shows its shape and drape gives the model more to work with.
If the first result looks off, change one thing at a time — a better-lit person photo, or a cleaner garment shot — rather than changing both and guessing which one helped.
